A Brief Biography Of CdeB

Chris was the second born son of Charles and Maeve Davison, in Argentina

on the15th October 1948. After spending many years travelling the world with

his parents, due to his fathers’ diplomatic job, the family finally settled in Ireland

when Chris himself was aged just 11years old. His parents chose to buy an old run

castle called ‘Bargy Castle’ in Southern Ireland, in a small village called  ‘Tom

Haggard’ in County Wexford. This they then turned into a small hotel after some

Years, but not before Chris and his family had spent many a year of hardship

as they tried to make a ‘go of it’ with all the improvements that needed doing.

So, contrary to popular opinion, Chris was most definitely not born with a

‘silver spoon’ in his mouth !!!

Chris started his early education years in Ireland before going to Marlborough

College, England, where he began to develop his interest in music, and finally

‘Trinity College’ in Dublin where he studied English, French, and General

Studies. During this time his interest in music continued to grow and after

graduating from ‘Trinity’ he sang in some very strange places, including a

hairdressers while people had their hair cut !! He also used to sing to guests

at his parents hotel while they ate their supper. Finally in 1972 he started

singing in a recently opened restaurant in Dublin, called ‘Captain Americas’

where to this day there is still a commemorative plaque of his time there.

Music. After countless set backs and disappointments he finally gained a record

Deal with A & M records in 1974 and to this day he remains within the same

‘organization’ although now on the Mercury label.

Although a massive ‘star’ in other countries such as Germany, Chris did not

Hit the big time here in the UK until 1986, with his blockbuster hit, ‘Lady In Red’

To this day, April 2006, Chris continues to enthral millions of fans around the
