The single, “The Lady In Red” was Chris’ biggest hit in the USA, as well as around the globe so it is no surprise it is from this smash hit album. Into The Light was his second to last album to be released in the states. As if to prove wrong all the doubters who say he is only popular BECAUSE of TLIR, the album was in the charts a long time before TLIR became a UK number 1 hit(August 1986), and the single was falling in the chart by the time this album made the UK number 1 spot.
“The Leader”, “The Vision”, and “What About Me?” were all written separately, but when Chris was laying down tracks for “Into The Light” he noticed that they all seemed to go together. Thus, on the album, they’re all sung together as three parts of the same song.
